Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Scope of Position

• Control mold build process from end to end, from project start to mold shipped.
• Support or lead mold build capacity and quality improvement based on Corning Global Molding Strategy

Major Roles and Responsibilities
Day-to-Day:

• 模具状态跟踪和更新,包括ding fabrication progress, mold trial results, part inspection and mold repair.
  • Support mold design or review with senior designer if there’s urgent case
• Fabrication and Project Management:
  • Support tool shop for process development, including legacy line and automation line
  • Optimize mold project efficiency for better cost-value mold build performance
  • Speed up mold delivery schedule based on current mold build process improvement

Projects involved with:

• Global mold project activities
• Injection molding production improvement

Skill and Knowledge Requirements
Experience Requirements:

• 5 years minimum or relevant working experience in injection mold fabrication process or mold engineering related industry

Required Skills:

• Full knowledge of mold engineering.
• Mold project management
• Capable of troubleshooting during mold qualification process.
• Capable of using Microsoft Office.
• Language Requirement:

English – Fluent or Mastery
Chinese – Native

Desired Skills:

• Familiar with concepts of scientific mold trial process
• CAE simulation with MoldFlow or Moldex3D
• Mold machining related experience or knowledge
• Familiar with injection molding process and troubleshooting
• Industry 4.0 concept for mold engineering
• Automatic machining knowledge for mold build process

Education:

• BS or higher in Mechanical or Mold Engineering or equivalent degree is preferred
