Duration: Flexible: 3-6 months

Scope of Position:

To provide single use consumables/disposables design expertise to various type of single use bag assembly development. Apply technical knowledge, engineering fundamentals and practices to effectively accomplish technical assignments and projects. Support and lead projects to fulfill department goals and objectives in direct support of single use technology development.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Work on design of single use bag using CAD.
  • Work directly with engineering in selection of components and single use consumables for single use bag assembly development and create BOM.
  • Develop test plans to qualify components and single use consumables.
  • Interface with manufacturing to optimize single use bag assembly processes.

Hours of work/work schedule/flextime:40 hr/week, typical 8 am-5 pm with some potential flex time for experiments or other business needs.

Required Education:Pursuing (in Senior year)/BS MS/PhD Engineering: Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Plastics

Required Years and Area of Experience:Senior/Graduate or any prior work experience in medical device or biopharma.

Required Skills:

  • Strong technical fundamentals.
  • Strong troubleshooting techniques with creative and innovative problem solving skills.
  • Self motivated and self starter: results oriented and can work independently with high commitment /energy.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with good planning and organizational skills.

Desired Skills:

  • CAD experience.
  • Hands-on experience with plastics or disposables.
  • Working knowledge of creating and analyzing DOE experiments.
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel, Access, and Statistical Analysis Tools (Minitab or JMP).
  • Design work experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
