Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Day to Day responsibilities:

  • Control engineer for Inspection equipment across CDT sites
  • Support CDT manufacturing sites in China, Japan, Korea, the USA, and Taiwan
  • Advanced PLC, HMI, integration and automation per project need.
  • Support plant for improvement, new technology migration, and problem solving.
  • Prepare scope/spec of control related work.
  • Work with global Corning resource, equipment vendor, and plant receiver on deliverables of the project.

  • Define improvement plans and projects for Inspection equipment
  • Install/retrofit Inspection equipment in expansion or rebuild projects
  • Identify and work to resolve gaps in equipment performance
  • Support the transfer of technology for new systems to global sites
  • Manage suppliers to deliver capability and systems on time.

Education and Requirements:

  • BS Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment control /automation related field
  • Good knowledge on equipment control and system integration.
  • Familiar to design, configure and test PLC, HMI, and SCADA’s applications.
  • Familiar to prepare schematic designs, control loop diagrams and schedules.
  • Familiar with control components and application.
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English
