Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Responsibilities:

  • Work individually or alongside other experienced professionals to design, develop and implement controls software and controls system solutions for manufacturing processes
  • Define appropriate controls system software and drawings layouts for meeting process requirements, delivering process control functions.
  • Evaluate existing process requirement and control strategies and propose improvements
  • Work with process SMEs to identify promising areas for applying control solutions
  • Evaluate readiness of power control solutions from R&D organizations, and facilitate the technology transfer into manufacturing
  • Documentation of designs and experimental results.
  • Support process electrical and manufacturing with troubleshooting electrical controls system issues that impact the process operation and performance.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in controls system software (PLC, RTP, C++, C#, VB, Python). Masters highly preferred with coursework in advanced power control systems.
  • 5年的工作经验在控制system software design and implementation at low to medium voltage. Power supply and regulation design including transformer, circuit breaker, power cable and power regulation component such as Silicon Controlled Rectifier selection, calculation and evaluation according to NEC or IEC.
  • Experience in power delivery in Glass or Ceramic industries is a plus.
  • Experience leading control system installation and startup is valuable.
