You will feel very happy to come in our Shanghai regional office. You will enjoy hands-on work in a talented team by focusing on activities including but not limited to measurement, inspection, design and development of metrology equipment and fixtures, glass wafer manufacture, data analytics, physical models, fabrication on glass wafers, or other advanced engineering inside a cleanroom manufacture facility or laboratory. You will cherish a strong responsibility to contribute and drive worldwide progress within Corning’s Precision Glass Solutions (PGS) business. Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to effectively accomplish technical assignments and other projects. Make decisions independently based upon sound engineering and scientific methods. Actively participate within and beyond department boundaries to resolve important issues regarding processing and products. Enhance manufacturing capabilities and robustness through the implementation of engineering changes. You will need to deliver the best in class precision glass wafers and related products to our customers. Support and drive fundamental process understanding and optimizing producer objectives. Support the development and execution of evaluating new technology or improvements in existing technology in terms of quality, cost, and sustainability of a superior product.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

You will enjoy hands-on work inside a cleanroom manufacture facility or laboratory. You lead, plan, and support work streams and tasks related to various measurement and process integration projects in Precision Glass Solutions (PGS). Your working scopes include but not limited to:

• Focus on measurement and inspection systems, methods, and processes to:

o Maintain deep knowledge of metrology principles and their implementations for wafer-scale or larger panels in semiconductor or related processing, for example,  shape and dimensions (edge and surface profile, bow/warp, thickness and variations, 3D via/hole),  physical properties (refractive index, absorption, birefringence, scattering, stress, hermiticity, strength, surface/interface characteristics), and  defects (particle, scratch, dig, bubble inclusions).

o Contribute to the establishment of new metrology, wafer processing, and automation capabilities as required; develop new gauge, equipment, algorithm, and software; migrate/transfer technologies from corporate R&D to production.

o Support new product introduction (NPI). Determine or improvise appropriate metrology tools, fixtures, processing, and related integration flows.  To provide data to ensure processes are in control and capable to meet customer specifications and requirements.  Define requirements for equipment calibration, maintenance, and process flow integration of both metrology and processing tools.

o Design experiments and analyze data to identify and implement improvements to the metrology systems or process.  Support process issue mitigation and improvement through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with other SMEs.  Provide trend analysis of key metrics and implement response plans. Identify chronic issues and recommend corrective actions.  Recommend/implement improvements to processes and equipment.

• Provide engineering support to measurement and process integration throughout the entire business unit. o Provide technical support for metrology and test equipment startup/commission, deployment, maintenance, and decommission projects.  Develop and update engineering and operations documentation.  Provide training for workforce regarding equipment or operations changes.  Assure quality and repeatability of metrology and testing processes.

o Understand and apply the quality architecture. Clearly articulate and document internal/external risks. You may conduct data collection, retrieval, plotting, modeling, interpretation and other analysis with a talented team.

o Measurement and inspection process engineering and control, support development, technology transfer from Development throughout Engineering, Production, and support all the way to Contractor Manufacture management.

o Lead and/or provide support for projects involving cost reduction, process optimization, and new products/processes.
