ScopeofPosition:

In this Intern role, you will work as part of the Salt Lake Quality Department reporting to the Quality Engineer. We look for you to have solo and team projects which can range from new materials, injection molding, validations, experimentation/problem analysis, part drawings, new equipment validation, new product development etc. The role will work with the QE group to on a major project to improve product quality and process quality in our pipette tip lines.

Hoursofwork/workschedule/flex-time:

  • Summer internship dates: 5/2022
  • Monday – Friday, standard business hours.

Required Education:

  • Pending Junior or Senior in an undergraduate program in Engineering or Life Science major.
  • GPA > 3.0

Required Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing systems and experience with data analysis (i.e. Microsoft Excel, SPC rules).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work with chemical processes.

Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Prior Lab or Design Team exposure beneficial.
  • Process engineering skills (quantitative skills, coursework in engineering, statistics, or other statistical training).
  • Technical writing with the ability to deliver technical presentations to operators, engineers, and managers.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Results oriented with a high commitment level.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks.
  • Motivated and a self-starter with independent learning style.
  • Effective communication & presentation skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work on diverse project team.
  • Able to build new business relationships with the team.
