TOOLING MANAGER

LOCATION: Reynosa Life Sciences Plant

1.位置的目的。康宁李fe Sciences specific need is Injection Molding Molds (vs. general molds). Need a hands-on Tool Room Manager to occupy the position. The role will work to establish, document, and continually improve our standard work procedures for the Toolroom department. Key functions of this position include inventory and evaluation of production tooling to ensure that it is kept in good working condition. This includes making decisions about how to repair molds and where the repair work is to be performed. Another key function of this position is to work with the technical personnel at the site and Division level in the maintenance, refurbishment and replacement schedules for molds. The manager will implement a tool tracking system that will establish preventative maintenance routines & schedules, tool verification methods, sampling, and the cataloging of new and modified tooling. This person must also be highly self-motivated and be able to satisfy both internal and external customer requirements while promoting employee engagement.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
•制定和实施流程改进optimize productivity and reduce costs. • Support and maintain quality of mold cavities, environmental and 5-S programs. • Troubleshoot shop issues involving equipment, machinery and tooling and lead solution implementation. • Implement root cause methodologies and perform data analysis. • Provide technical support for machinery and equipment to team. • Specify and procure new fixtures, equipment and tooling needed to meet production demand and product quality requirements. • Develop and maintain shop methods standard work and procedures. • Work with Design Engineering, to resolve production issues and/or implement improvements. • Liaison to Suppliers and coordinate any contract work to be performed. • Manage and schedule tooling repairs. • Assist in departmental/plant training on lean fundamentals. • Manage and maintain revision control of tooling drawings. • Assigns and maintains daily work schedule for toolroom personnel. • Ensures employees have a thorough understanding of their job tasks and any safety hazards and preventive measures that need to be taken that are associated with the work. • Maintains inventory of spare parts and supplies and issues purchase requisitions, expense reports and capital expenditure request. • Responsible for the execution, improvement and compliance of a tooling preventive maintenance program. • Track all tooling assets. Manage documentation associated with tooling CAD and paper files. A. This position provides day to day and long term leadership to the Tooling Department, providing short term tactical plans and long term strategic guidance to define needs, design, acquisition, introduction, administration and performance improvement of equipment, tools, dies, molds, gauges, jigs and associated systems needed to maintain new and existing operations from the equipment and tooling stand point. This position receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. Establishes and recommends changes to policies which affect subordinate organization(s). Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and personnel, and serious delays in overall schedules. Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Interactions normally involve matters between functional areas, other plants, divisional groups or customers and the company. Manages, through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of safety, costs, and quality. In some instances, this manager may be responsible for a functional area and may not have subordinate employees.

Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements

A. Education · Engineering BS or MS Degree, desired molding science related, or Mechanical related · Advanced English level

B. Work Experience. · 10-15 or more years of technical area of tooling, proved experience as Tool Room Manager, development and maintenance experience · 5-7 Year of managerial experience
