Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Function/Dept Purpose Statement:

Managing the Payroll for Salaried and Associates working in a plant

  • Timely & errorless payroll management
  • Payroll related statutory compliances
  • Annual increments, PIP & Goal sharing payments
  • MIS reports
  • Process time records, compiles payroll statistics, calculates deductions and disburses payrolls.
  • Coordinating and managing monthly birthday celebrations and other events.
  • Training coordination

Position Responsibilities:

The HR Operations Analyst partners with the HR Lead for processing new hire data, time sheet data, rate changes, adjustments, special pays, as-well-as maintaining vacation, sick, and employee's compensation records. Trains new personnel as to established procedures. Maintains and ensures confidentiality of data. Takes initiative to identify and propose remedies to problems to increase efficiency of workflow. Uses discretion to direct workflow in accordance with general supervisory guidance.

Benchmarking the pay structure and benefits with surrounding industries and to provide an input to the management with data for recommendation. Coordination with the payroll vendor, PF formalities and related compliances like PT, LWF, ESI etc.

Payroll (60%)

Managing the Payroll for Salaried and Associates working in a plant

  • Timely & errorless payroll management
  • Payroll related statutory compliances
  • Process time records, compiles payroll statistics, calculates deductions and disburses payrolls.
  • Preparation, review, and approval of monthly payroll inputs for the payroll vendor.
  • Ensuring timely and error free transfer of salaries.
  • Working closely with finance and payroll vendor to ensure tax and benefits compliances, reports for cost allocations and provisions.
  • Co-ordinating with the payroll vendor to facilitate the process of gathering investment declarations and submission of proofs by employees.
  • Annual increments and variable pay payments
  • MIS reports

Employee Life Cycle Management (10%)

  • Ensure timely completion of the joining formalities for new joiners.
  • Maintain employee records (electronic and paper) as per company and statutory guidelines.
  • Addressing employee queries related to HR processes, policies, leave, payroll, insurance etc.
  • Work with external partners to ensure smooth administration of benefits such as insurance and retirals.

Compliances (10%)

  • Ensuring the archival of all evidence demonstrating the implementation of hire to retire processes to support annual internal and external audits.
  • Working closely with the internal statutory compliance team members and external partners to ensure that the company is compliant as per the local labor legislations.

Support HR programs and processes (10%)

  • Promote the company HR programs to create a positive work environment
  • Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies
  • Participate in 1:1; group employee-connect platforms
  • Coordinating and managing monthly birthday celebrations and other events.
  • Support the adoption and promotion of employee recognition platforms

Special Projects (10%)

  • Support the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives of the company
  • Participate in country level and global HR projects from time to time

Minimum Requirements:

  • MBA/MPM or PGDM degree from any recognized university HR/PM.
  • Having 3-5 years’ experience of working in a Payroll - HR Dept.
  • Working knowledge of payroll & related compliances.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentations)
  • Computer Proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft)
  • Successful track record in the administration of payroll/HR or Business processes or programs
