Plant Buyer

This position shall be responsible for the tactical execution of procurement strategies for Indirect Materials & Services and Capital equipment for the manufacturing site in Mszczonów, Poland.

This role’s work location is Mszczonów, Poland. This position reports to the OFC EMEA Regional Supply Manager and with a dotted line to the Plant Procurement Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and process purchase requisitions into PO's in SAP ERP system (including obtaining and examining quotations and bids)
• Creates and maintains contractual documents in ARIBA system (Supply Agreements/SOWs, Pricing Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), Certificates of Insurance (COI), etc.)
• Works closely with requisitioners, suppliers, receiving, and Corning Shared Services (CSS) to resolve invoice issues and identify root cause and corrective action
• Responsible for all Vendor Add/Change/Maintenance requirements.
• Supports plant leadership and/or GSM requests for data analysis, metrics reporting, purchasing information
• Negotiates business terms with incumbent and new suppliers
• Assist with submissions for all savings tracker entries into Ariba as required

• Academic degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related disciplines
• Minimum of 3 year of experience in procurement functions
• Knowledge of procurement /supply chain modules in SAP R/3 – mandatory
• Experience in sourcing of Indirect materials and services
• Knowledge of procurement processes and systems
• Good command of English language
• Attention to details
• Ability to collect and analyze data
• Medium proficiency for MS Office (Outlook, EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT)
• Understands the importance of clear requirements
