The Plant Procurement Operations Leader represents the Procurement function on the plant level and shall ensure that all Procurement Operations in the newly built Mszczonów plant are compliant with Corning´s global Procurement policies and processes and align with defined Category Strategies. Furthermore, Leader shall drive sourcing-related cost reduction initiatives, mainly on Indirect Materials and Services.

The Procurement team onsite consists of the Plant Procurement Operations Leader and a Plant Buyer (/Sourcing Specialist), who both report directly to the OFC EMEA Regional Supply Manager and are part of the Global Supply Management network.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead negotiations with local Polish suppliers and service providers
  • Ensure compliance (e.g. GBP, IP-protection, ARIBA contracts)
  • Represent GSM in the plant organization and in cross-functional Project teams
  • Create and drive the sourcing-related cost reduction portfolio for Mszczonówplant
  • Assure supply by leading the resolution process and escalating critical supply situations
  • Ensure the execution of Global and Regional Category strategies

  • Negotiate sourcing conditions, Master Supply Agreements and Project Agreements
  • Lead the sourcing process (from RfX to awarding the order)
  • Lead the KT Decision Analysis process
  • Collect data and analyze supplier performance and spend data
  • Calculate and report plant-related savings data (PCM, SRA)
  • Advocate the use of sophisticated digital tools (e.g. ARIBA eAuction | RiskMethods | ELEMENTUM)
  • Identify opportunities to reduce inventory

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in similar position
  • While an Academic Degree is a must, a degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or alike are considered a plus
  • Sourcing experience with Indirect Materials and Service
  • Experience in decentralized procurement operations
  • Very good command of English language
  • Ability to encourage and facilitate cooperation among the various people in and outside of the plant
  • Very good knowledge of SAP R/3 (Procurement transactions and related transactions in Finance and SCM), MS Office suite
  • Understands the importance and value of open communication and sharing of information
  • Understanding of Supplier Cost Structures
  • Legal knowledge and contract negotiation skills
  • Understands the importance and value of ensuring well-developed statements of work
  • Experience in risk identification
  • Attention to details
