Scientific Computing supports scientific research by offering hardware, systems, and software support for scientists and modelers.

This position is offered as 100% remote, but can report to our offices in Corning, NY or Charlotte, NC.

Scope of Position:

Provide 8AM - 5PM system support for an on-prem OpenShift instance.

Collaborate with a small group of systems team members and software developers to provide containerization solutions for a variety of

internal projects.

Implement technologies to monitor the health of our development system.

Occasional travel to Corning to handle hardware upgrades.

Implement and support security best-practices to ensure a secured compute environment.

Pro-actively monitor and report on performance issues based on metrics.

Required Skills:

Experience maintaining an OKD/OpenShift instance.

Experience with Configuration Management and IaC tools like Terraform and Ansible.

Experience supporting a Linux (RHEL or similar) environment.

Experience using various CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, or similar).

Experience with common Scripting languages (bash, python, etc.).

Desired Skills:

Ability to develop SLOs/SLAs towards high availability and reliability goals.

3+ years of experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
