The global Human Resource (HR) Function provides an integrated talent management system that delivers a workforce that is Corning's competitive differentiator in the global marketplace.

HR provides service offerings that align solutions to business challenges by ensuring the programs are Effective, Efficient, Global, Scaleable, and Repeatable. Corning’s Values are operationalized by the HR Function through the facilitation of Talent Management offerings, as well as programs and processes that aid in making Corning’s Values visible.

Scope of the Position:

Role is aligned to Corning’s Technology Community (TC) and partners with HR generalists and business leaders to manage talent planning processes and other major talent management initiatives.

  • Ensure consistent application and deployment of talent management and development/learning processes.
  • Serves as a trusted coach to develop talent within the business/function and the “voice” of the business/function into the Talent Management (TM) COE for program/process development.

Responsibilities:

  • TC Talent Strategy – Partner with the HR Director, TC and Director, Talent Management to define/refresh the TC talent strategy.
  • TC Talent Routines – Deploy talent routines within the TC, ensuring alignment with Corning’s global standards.
  • Provide research-based leading practices and emerging trends. Use talent metrics / reporting to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Talent Planning – Partner with TC leaders and HR generalists in talent planning cycle, process, outcomes, and analysis. Ensure rigor in identifying and deploying talent against the TC’s highest-priority innovation/development projects.
  • Talent Development – Leverage Corning’s global development programs and platforms in meeting TC’s needs. Identify, and design as needed, curriculum and development programs for TC-specific needs.
  • Facilitate select TC-specific training programs.
  • Partner with the TC’s HR Training Specialist to drive implementation of talent development / career development / knowledge transfer programs and processes.
  • Technical Talent Pipelining – As needed, develop overall TC talent pipeline strategy, including identification of TC early career talent and development of strategic talent.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Strategy Manager for the TC for optimizing external recruiting channels (e.g., campus recruiting partnerships).
  • Other Special Projects – Support other talent-related projects as needed at the Corporate level or in support of the Technical Community’s talent strategy.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • Graduate degree in Psychology or HR-related or Talent Management-related academic discipline (preferred)
  • 6 – 10 years of experience in HR (required)
