The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.

Purpose of this position:

  • The Engineering Support Systems Project Engineer will be responsible for the engineering governance change management systems used to ensure process, equipment efficiency, and product transparency within the Gorilla Glass division.
  • This role will need to act as an advocate of governance standard methodologies, methods, and procedures through facilitating the change management systems and championing governance improvements.
  • Project leadership opportunities will be available to grow the governance scope within Gorilla Glass and to lead improvement projects.
  • This will provide opportunities to showcase project management skills and get exposure to leadership at all levels within the division.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create and run a portfolio linking PCRs and DCRs to key business initiatives with clear cost/benefit understandings
  • Scrutinize technology changes to ensure they are aligned with the Gorilla Glass business objectives
  • Perform initial IA screening on new equipment and process designs
  • Engage with director level leadership to get agreement on continuous change management improvements
  • Flexibility to modify and grow existing systems to make the change management systems more effective
  • Strive for continuous improvement of the governance systems and lead improvement projects
  • Develop change management systems for a new products and platforms expected to come under division management in 2022.
  • Develop dashboards to communicate relevant change management metrics at an appropriate frequency to leadership
  • Assist equipment governance project leaders in trial/migration planning and scope change process
  • Perform user training and serve as a mentor for engineers using the change management systems
  • Liaison with Display equipment and process engineering teams on design and process changes

Work Hours Standard Monday – Friday work schedule, evening calls required

Travel Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • We require a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
