Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Scope of Position:

The SAP Business Analyst is an active team member tasked with providing system support and process improvements. This position assists with implementing system/process changes to commercial system including establishing business requirements definition for SAP upgrades. You will apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills in identifying problems, and developing recommendations that support the commercial operations organization. This role also includes End User support assistance for related commercial applications in the resolution to system and process level issues. This role works closely with the Commercial team, Plant Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and internal IT teams to improve/streamline/standardize processes. This position will include a varying level of project work. Expect to participate in cross-functional teams within the division.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Responsible for working with our SAP Application Development team, Corporate IT team, Release Management team to plan, implement, and test new releases into our production systems environment
• Develop and implement approved business process changes to more effectively utilize different systems and adaptive to commercial processes
• Respond to End User questions in a prompt and service-oriented manner
• Serve as On-Call staff and SME representative for the commercial applications portfolio.
• Maintain and develop applicable policies processes, and procedures
• Key team member of new system and process solution project, participating in designing, testing, training and deploying solutions • Coordinate with IT and/Enhancement teams on system solutions and testing, and assist with troubleshooting and defining requirements and needs for resolution when required
• Actively participate in Root Cause and Base Capability process analysis teams to implement corrective actions for process failures
• Develop test plans and lead testing, write documentation and train global users on appropriate system enhancements and new functionality

• 3+ years of experience in related field with System Support/Business applications

Required Skills:

• Experience in query tools(SQL), data compilation and data analysis activities
• Possesses a strong technical knowledge of systems architecture (tables structures and interfaces, etc.)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, culturally sensitive and willing to collaborate across business units and people in different time zones
• Strong Problem Solving skills. Ability to ‘think outside the box’ to creatively solve a problem
• Ability to multi-task; effectively prioritize and manage projects with day-to-day tasks
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact across functions (engineering, supply chain, commercial, manufacturing, etc.) and at all levels of the organization
• Ability to logically break d=down complex problems, open minded to all inputs, persistence to independently analyze, develop and implement the best process solutions.
