Corning is building the foundational digital infrastructure for these company-wide efforts, and are looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented staff-level Agile practitioners that will lead Agile projects to deploy proof-of-value projects and digital foundations for reuse, velocity and scale.

Their primary responsibility will be to work with a dynamic, Agile based team of multi-disciplinary engineers to ensure the execution of Agile methodologies and definition/execution/monitoring of internal processes and procedures supporting our advanced analytics projects.

This role will be a facilitator for an Agile team working under the Scrum framework and will work directly with the leader of Value Acceleration to drive ceremony and tool discipline through the agile teams. The Scrum Master serves as a point person responsible for understanding the development picture of each sprint. They are responsible for delegating tasks appropriately and ensuring the team is working on the right tasks at the right time. They also want to ensure the team is fully deployed and not idle. The role of Scrum Master involves working closely with the Product Owner and team members to translate epics, stories, and other items on the sprint list into actionable tasks for developers.

The Scrum Master will work with the Agile Practitioner and the Director of the Value Acceleration efforts. They will be responsible for keeping a backlog of activity (using Jira), facilitating sprint planning, execution, stand-ups, retrospectives and reviews as well as metrics to measure each project’s execution.

This role will also be responsible for educating businesses in Product Ownership and Agile practices as well as the teams involved directly in the proof-of-value efforts. They will work in conjunction with the Agile Center of Excellence (COE) team and be an active participating member of the Agile COP as it is built out.

Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited University
  • PSM Level II certification, or equivalent, which demonstrates advanced Scrum proficiency
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in IT and Agile practices
  • 4+ years providing direct business partner engagement
  • 3+ years experience of direct Scrum Master experience with 2+ teams
  • 3+ years of hands on Agile and process improvement experience
  • Experience with Implementing processes and procedures within dynamic team settings
  • Basic understanding of systems engineering, software engineering, and cloud and security engineering concepts
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile tools
  • Experience working with developers/engineers and implementation of process improvement
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office tools
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  • Ability to work independently

Desired Requirements:

  • Advanced Agile Certification (CSM, SAFe, Scrum.org, etc.)
  • Skilled in use of JIRA, Trello, Slack and Confluence (Git lab preferred)
  • ITIL knowledge a plus
  • Advanced understanding of systems engineering and cyber security engineering concepts
  • PMP Certification a plus
  • General project schedule management experience
