Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware, and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data, and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments, and individuals for their own use.

For our Tech-Center in Berlin-Adlershof we are looking for a

HR Business Partner (m/f/d)

Description:

Responsible for human resources support for EMEA organization, and the Corning well as EMEA other liaison. Proactively defines, coordinates, and/or executes organizational and operational activities to ensure having the right people and HR processes in the right place at the right time to meet business and function objectives.

Works to ensure supported organizations realize the necessary levels of employee productivity and performance excellence required to execute the business strategy and achieve desired results; coordinates and maintains appropriate levels of HR service delivery; and successful execution of HR and business processes across supported organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with site HR teams, corporate professional functions and appropriate vendors to:
  • Define and coordinate HR processes /actions to execute the business and function strategies
  • Manage day-to-day HR operational activities for supported organizations (payroll interactions, administrational duties relating to employment contracts, disability, etc.)
  • Provide appropriate coordination to ensure organizational efficiency and effectiveness, including but not limited to the following areas:
    • Talent Acquisition– posting of open positions; sourcing candidates; interviewing and selection; liaison with recruiting representative for reporting/information; salary analysis and job offers; etc.
    • (Responsible for Talent Acquisition of global Product design group across all locations: Germany, Poland, US, Mexico etc.), updating hiring tracker for Technology function, connecting with Technology Director
    • Employer branding– join the German HR team effort to define, execute and improve employer branding for the Berlin location
    • Onboarding– ensure consistency across supported organizations/sites
    • Training– conduct local site needs analysis, partner with training resources and/or provide relevant training for compliance and Corning processes (PD&R, ASR, Moments that matter etc.)
    • Performance management– provide HR leadership of the process, service delivery as appropriate across supported organizations
    • Compensation management– provide HR leadership of the process, service delivery and compensation data analysis for supported organizations
    • Talent planning– provide HR leadership of the process; facilitation and coaching to ensure appropriate level of business ownership for talent identification, development actions, and succession planning across supported organizations
    • Voice to Action– provide HR leadership of the process; survey administration; facilitate development and execution of appropriate action plans for the site level
    • Employee Relations– employment and compliance to labor laws and regulatory requirements /reporting
    • Immigration / Global mobility– owning the processes of employees’ relocation / rotational assignments
    • Performance Excellence– participation in local & HR performance excellence initiatives
    • HR data analysis(attrition and retention plans, recognition metrics, exit interview information, onboarding metrics, salary market analysis, various talent planning stats/metrics, diversity tracking/metrics, interim employee satisfaction and customer satisfaction/process improvement surveys, etc.)
    • Site communication:Quarterly site communication meeting
    • Site leadership team member(monthly meetings, action items)

  • Provide HR leadership for the Corning Berlin Technology Center (CTCB)

  • Provide leadership for applicableCTCB Works Councilinteractions and requirements

  • Other projects and business initiatives as determined by the needs of the business

  • Manage the student population & relationship with the universities

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or Organization Development, labour relations or equivalent
  • Master’s degree in related area and/or HR certifications is a benefit

Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • At least 3 years of HR experience; experience in an international company

Required Skills:

  • 英语和德语(口语流利d written, German in a mother tongue level), including presentation skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of German labour law and co-determination, including experience working with work council
  • Successful track record in the deployment of HR business processes or programs
  • Strong communication skills to all hierarchy levels
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, some international
