Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data, and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments, and individuals for their own use.

Market Development Manager CN EMEA (m/f/d)

1. Purpose of Position

A. Customer Development Responsibilities:

• Identify, estimate and manage opportunities in the main regions, specialy around the Tier 2/3 in EMEA
• Engage Carrier Network customers on network challenges, develop and deliver solution value propositions and support regional sales teams with network and product expertise
• Lead strategic technical alliances with key Carrier customers to enable critical product development and essential voice of customer input
• Guide customers in selecting the best fit optical fiber solutions that deliver network performance in an evolving and competitive environment
• Deliver presentations to Commercial organization for New Product introductions
• Work with KAMs for defined growth accounts to develop impactful engagement plans

B. Market Development and Data Analytics

• Engage and partner with key accounts on new product development or deep technical challenges to identify co-innovation opportunities
• Collaborates with PLM, Technology and other regional application experts to evaluate and define scope for new product introductions meeting customer and regional requirements
• Provide key input into the organization regarding specific applications strategy evolution through customer VOC, field feedback and internal developments to sustain value delivery to customer
• Subject matter expert in Carrier Network applications to include FTTH, 5G and converged networks
• Identify market and industry trends that impact Carrier Network strategies and contribute to internal workstreams to respond to this dynamic market environment
• Author technical and white papers and present at trade shows, conferences and customer seminars

B. Key Measurements

• Regular reporting of key performance indicators to Commercial leadership
• Display the highest level of professionalism as a representative of Corning Optical Communications and adherence to all Corning values
• Share gain at existing customers within the Growth Account team
• Develop the T2/3 or Alternative Network Operators, mainly in the UK
• Plan and execute strategy to capture growing opportunity on Government funded projects

C. Experience Requirements / Skills / Additional Information

• Degree in Engineering, Telecommunication Networks or other technical fields
• 10 years’ experience in Telecommunications
• Strong understanding of optical telecommunications principles and technologies, specifically FTTH, xWDM, HFC and 5G technologies
• Forward looking, decisive, logical and sound technical judgment in conditions of ambiguity
• Critical thinking & problem solving with acute attention to detail
• Be able to travel internationally occasionally at short notice to Europe, Middle East, Africa and USA
• Have excellent written and oral English skills additional languages are a plus
