Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):

We seek highly motivated and independent Senior Scientist to join our Development team. The position will lead/support development of new innovative products for cell culture application, and transfer of technology to manufacturing and QC. The position requires ability to work independently as well as the ability to effectively collaborate across multiple cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include planning and conducting experiments, analyzing data, technical problem solving, writing SOPs, technical reports, and external product literature, and sometime answering customer queries.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

1.Independently design, plan and perform lab experiments in accordance with general project plan, and timelines

2. Record, analyze, interpret data, perform troubleshooting and write technical reports

3. Represent development on cross-functional teams, report results to the project team and stakeholders

4. Research information, establish new capabilities, develop new procedures for testing, data acquisition, and analysis as needed to support the project objectives

5. Interact with collaborators and CROs

6. Lead/support technology transfer to internal or external manufacturing site

7. Contribute to product commercialization efforts

Travel Requirements (please note if international):

Some travel to conferences/ meetings and customer visits (~ 5%)

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Full time, 40 hr/ week

Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration)

Ph.D. in Biological sciences or related discipline with 5 or more years of research experience preferably in industry OR M.S. in Biological sciences or related discipline with 10 or more years of industry experience

Required Skills (These are skills that candidates MUST possess)

1.Expertise in cell culture (adherent and suspension) including cell lines, pluripotent stem cells, and 3D cell culture

2. Experience with suspension culture in rocker bags

3. Expertise in flow cytometry, cell-based assays, immunocytochemistry, ELISA

4. Experience and track record in new products/technologies development

5. Ability to independently plan and conduct experiments, adapt experimental design based on emerging data, analyze data, and write reports

6. Familiarity with DOE and other statistical methods

7. Strong communication skills - written and verbal

8. Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects with constantly changing priorities and deadlines

Desired Skills (These are skills that would be nice for candidates to possess)

1.Knowledge and experience with Cell and Gene therapy technologies/equipment

2. Strong publication record
